Well its officially official: I got my letter from Midwestern University today. They said they couldn't offer me a spot in their dental program...(pause for sigh)...and since I don't have any other interviews lined up, my chances are slim to none this year. I haven't heard from a couple of schools still but, lets just say I'm not counting on any of them. That doesn't mean it won't happen. That's just like Mark Eubank not wearing the white jacket and expecting it to snow.
So on to plan B. I'm looking into the Univ. of Utah's Biological Engineering program and seriously considering that, assuming I can find a higher paying job (maybe one that's actually in the field I graduated in?!?) and we can find an affordable house.

Oh man. Words seem so trite... bummer, crummy, etc. We're sorry things haven't worked out. When I saw the pic of Mark Eubank I was thinking you were going to be a meteorologist, how fun would that be?! Best of luck deciding on your new path! We love you guys!
First things first, I love the picture of Eye-gore...
So, so sorry Kim.... It's OK to grieve. It's OK to feel sad. This was a major goal in your life.
If you would indulge me... Whenever I fail at something, I recall Thomas Edison's comments regarding the light bulb. I'm paraphrasing, but words to the effect of, "I didn't find a way to make light, I found 9999 ways NOT to make it.
It's OK to fail, it means you were attempting something great. Best of luck and love as you work to attempt something else great!
Oh...tom's comments are making me cry... so true so true!
Life is crazy...we never really know what is going to be thrown into the mix..okay I'll share too...
I got a cute email from denice this week...maybe you've seen it...about a beautiful chocolate cupcake. It's a long story...but basically... eating flour, raw eggs, cocoa, or baking powder on their own would be disgusting and gross..but when you mix them all together they create a delicious chocolate cupcake... just like life. All these experiences (good and bad) make us who we are...delicious chocolate cupcakes. :)
You rock kim...everything will turn out for the best...it always does.
You probably already know my feelings. They pretty well echo the others. Evidently Heavenly Father has a better plan for you. It makes one wonder why the interview and excitement and hope. Oh well, now, for the rest of your life you will be able to give somebody else who doesn't get into dental school some empathy.
ANNNNND, I am excited to see what IS in store! Because something definitely is! love, Momma j
